Revision of OROP pension under Government on 04.01.2023Edited by: InfoTechies
An appeal to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the One Rank-One Pension policy had previously been denied. The Central government endorsed it in a statement sent to the heads of the three defense forces in 2015. The supreme court ruled that it is not arbitrary nor subject to any “Constitutional imperfection.”
In 2015, the government released a notification announcing the launch of the OROP program. It included a clause requiring a five-year review of the pensions. According to the OROP, regardless of the retirement date, all armed forces members who retire in the same rank with the same amount of service must get a uniform pension.
On January 4, 2023, DESW published the Official Notification for the Grant of OROP. The Apex Court subsequently mandated that all arrears and revisions be paid by 15 March 2023. This letter contains the most recent information on OROP grant and pension fixing procedures.
