The state of Assam was established in 1950, The Assam Movement (1979-1985) is one of the popular movements against illegal immigrants in Assam. The Government of Assam announced Public holidays and Optional holidays for 2025. Generally, all Saturdays and Sundays are holidays given by the Government of Assam.
