Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is the only approved autonomous school by the central government.
Sainik Schools Society (SSS) has 33 approved schools across India. It was a partnership with NGOs / Private Schools / States etc. Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other Training Academies for officers. It provides effective physical, psycho-social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and cognitive development to the students which support youth Life.
List of Sainik Schools in India PDF
The Sainik Schools are under the control of the Defence Ministry (MoD). The Central Government recently approved 100 schools in Government and Private Sector with the Sainik School Society. These schools function as an exclusive vertical which will be distinct and different from existing Sainik Schools of MoD. In the first phase, 100 affiliate partners are proposed to be drawn from States/NGOs/Private partners.

List of New 21 Sainik Schools (Setting up of 100 New Sainik Schools): Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved the setting up of 21 new Sainik Schools, in partnership with NGOs/private schools/State Governments. These schools will be set up in the initial round of the Government’s initiative of setting up 100 new Sainik schools across the country in partnership mode. They will be distinct from the existing Sainik Schools. At present 33 Sainik Schools were established in the country and the list given below is the complete details of Sainik schools. Sainik Admission Eligibility
Age Limit and Eligibility
- For class VI
Boys aged between 10 and 12 years as on 31 Mar 2024 (i.e., boys born between 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2013) and studying in V Std in a recognized School are eligible for admission to Class VI. - For Class IX
Boys aged between 13 and 15 years as of 31 Mar 2024 boys born between 01 April 2008 to 31 March 2010) and studying in VIII std in a recognized School are eligible for admission to Class IX.
Sainik School Admission Reservation
- 15% of the seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% of seats for Scheduled Tribes in the reservation.
- 25% of seats for Children of Service Personnel including Ex-Servicemen.
- 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys from every state.
- 33% of seats will be to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population.
- In case the required SC/ST/DEF candidates are not available, the vacancies will be filled in by General Category candidates.
Sainik School Application Form 2024-24
- For General / Wards of Defence personnel and ex-servicemen / OBC (NCL) category – Rs. 650/-
- For SC/ST category – Rs. 500/-
Sainik School Registration steps for Admission 2024
- Registration: Complete the registration by providing a few basic details such as your name, your father’s name, etc.
- Upload Photograph & Signature: You need to upload the photograph & signature thereafter.
- Make payment: Further, you need to make a payment of Rs. 500/- for the General & Defence category and Rs. 650/- for SC/ST category candidates. The fee includes prospectus-cum-application form.
- Upload Documents: You need to upload the following documents:
Birth Certificate: You need to upload a Transfer Certificate issued by the previous school, an extract of the date of birth entered in the service documents, or a certificate issued by the Municipal Committee/Board/Corporation.
Domicile Certificate: You need to upload documents as issued by State Government.
Caste certificate: You need to upload documents as issued by State Government.
