The state of Manipur was formed in  1972. It was made a Union Territory in 1956 and a fully-fledged State in 1972 under the act of North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, of 1971. The Government of Manipur announced Public holidays and Optional holidays for 2024. Generally, Second and Fourth Saturdays and Sundays are holidays given by the Government of Manipur.
